Earlier we reviewed how to add and configure individual item options.
Common options are those we’ll make available to apply for all items, or all items within certain categories. We can do this in the Option Groups and Option Lists submodules.

First, let’s create a new options group.
For example, we’ll create a group with the name ‘common’, where we add the more popular changes like no sugar, no salt, no spice, extra cheese etcetera.

Now let’s add another group called toppings containing tomato, onion, and mushrooms.
In the ‘toppings’ group we can also add coffee toppings such as chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon.

Within every group, we can set which categories these option groups will be available for.

Note that the tax applied to options will be the same as the tax applied to the item the option has been added to.
The recipe however, is separate. Options themselves should have their recipe entered individually.

You can also set some options to be added at no extra charge. For example – the first extra portion of tomato is free, but each subsequent portion will be charged for.
